In 1844, Samuel Morse tapped out the first message through a wire, and suddenly a message traveled faster than any horse. What remains from this technology above all is a rhythm that almost everyone recognizes to this day: short short short, long long long, short short short. Anyone who can tap out SOS has something in common with the 19th century.
The Morse Telegraph Model Kit brings this device to your desk as a miniature: 60 parts made of plastic and metal in brass colors, plus flywheel, bevel gear set, coupling wheel and a retro joystick, all visibly assembled on a black round base. The telegraph key springs back when pressed, the red signal lamp lights up, and light and sound run in sync. The telegraph gets power through the base via USB-C, and if you own the rail from the Industrial City series, you can power it wirelessly. According to the box, the Type-C cable is not included.
For builders with a steady hand and an appreciation for old technology, difficulty two out of five and from age 14. Three short signals will be understood by everyone at the desk then ;)
